TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL NEWBORN SESSION
Most of the images we will capture work best if the baby is in a deep sleep. To help with this process, we recommend that you keep your little one awake longer than they would like prior to the session to ensure that they are exhausted for the photo session. The second thing that we recommend is to feed the little one right before the session to keep them sleepy in a milk drunken state. This will help us capture the images of your sweet one. We are more than happy to take as many breaks as needed to help the little one be comfortable. Its tough work being a model!
We highly recommend keeping the home a little warmer than usually to ensure that your baby is nice and cozy. They are used to being cuddle up in warmth and to keep them happily asleep just the right temperature will help ensure they are sleepy.
LOOSEN IT UP & WRAP THEM
About 30 minutes prior to the session loosen up their diaper and remove clothes. Have them wrapped in a snuggly blanket to keep them warm. This allows for any lines or creases to disappear before the shoot. (Your baby will be naked in most of the shots, but we pose them so that all the “important bits” are not on display.)
MESSES ARE NATURAL
Your baby is going to be in the buff for the majority of this shoot. Please don’t panic if your baby decides to use our blankets (or us) as his/her own personal potty. This is natural and we expect it! It is very helpful to have extra towels and wipes around for when messes happen.
*If you would like a shot of your baby in a diaper we recommend slipping a diaper cover (solid color) or bloomers over it, it helps the photo look neat.
